Building a healthier tomorrow

UCI Health will be breaking ground in winter 2021-2022 for a new medical pavilion on UCI’s North Campus — the first phase in what is envisioned as a large medical complex and hospital to serve residents of Irvine, Newport Beach and south Orange County.

Ambulatory care

The UCI Health Outpatient Pavilion, to be located at the intersection of Jamboree Road and Campus Drive, will be home to the Center for Children’s Health, adult specialty care, urgent care and other much-needed services for the entire family. Scheduled for completion in late 2022, this state-of-the-art location is the first of a larger health offering, which will give residents greater accessibility to UCI’s world-class physicians, multidisciplinary care and university-backed clinical research.

Convenience matters. We are making it easier for you to get the best care possible, while shortening your travel time. UCI Medical Center Irvine-Newport will provide south Orange County residents with access to a 24-hour emergency room; leading-edge cancer treatments and clinical trials from our NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center; and exceptional care by world-renowned experts in specialties, such neurosciences, orthopaedics, and digestive health.

Unifying research, training and care

The new medical complex — combined with the current construction of the Susan and Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences and the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing — will be the realization of a long-held dream to unify medical services, research and training on the university campus, and a complement to the services offered at the flagship UCI Medical Center campus in Orange.
